ProFed Credit Union is based in Fort Wayne and operates 13 branch locations throughout Northeast Indiana. Profed offers their members a broad range of services, including checking and savings accounts, IRAs, credit cards, loans and mortgages… all with friendly and personal service.
Profed’s website is the primary interface for supporting members. It provides marketing information on the various services available, as well as specials and promotions. Key information such as branch hours and location information is found on the site. Prospective members can apply to join, and existing members can open accounts through the website. The website also functions as a gateway to the online banking portal, making security a critical consideration.
Pedrera was engaged by Profed to support their website due to our expertise in ExpressionEngine. Profed had an existing website that they were happy with, but they needed a new ExpressionEngine developer to support it. Pedrera was able to assume responsibility for the website, making template changes, supporting new features, and improving performance.
Over time, Pedrera’s role grew. Pedrera rebuilt a custom application for member referrals, redesigned and administered a new web hosting environment, and rebuilt the ExpressionEngine website from scratch to address content editing issues from the previous build. Eventually, in 2024, Pedrera worked with Profed to launch a completely new website — again, built with ExpressionEngine. Pedrera continues to work with Profed on their website, conducting regular web security and maintenance operations, adding new features and supporting the marketing and IT teams.
